NeoGraft FUE Hair Transplant
What is NeoGraft?
The NeoGraft hair transplant system automates the FUE surgery technique. The motorized device excises the graft and through suction extracts the follicular units. This suction is believed to cause trauma and transection of these fragile hair grafts.
Dr. Daniel McGrath no longer uses NeoGraft FUE Hair Transplant System in his Austin, Texas practice for patients who prefer FUE hair transplant surgery.
The neograft system uses pneumatic controls to extract complete individual hair follicles, which can be immediately transplanted to the selected areas of the scalp. The NeoGraft automated hair transplantation system is the only complete harvesting system on the market that claims to have the only ‘NO TOUCH’ implantation technology. Unfortunately, the issue is that the pneumatic system first pulls or tears the fragile graft from the scalp, down a plastic tube into a container that is later emptied, and the grafts are sorted and placed, just like in other hair transplant methods.
It is common for medical practices looking to incorporate hair restoration to their practice to lease this or a much more expensive ARTAS Robotic system and then hire traveling, unlicensed hair transplant technicians to perform most, if not all, of the procedure, without physician supervision or participation.
In our opinion, there are many superior devices for harvesting FUE hair grafts, and the actual extraction should be gentle and meticulous, protecting the grafts every step of the procedure.
